0 TO 4 YEARS KEY FACTS
Northchurch Cricket Pavilion
We are a small nursery welcoming children from 9 months to school entry age. We have space for 30 children per day and are based in Northchurch Cricket Pavilion.
We have access to a spacious and scenic environment that we can use in all weather.
Children can use large outdoor equipment i.e. Bikes, scooters on the fenced patio, and have the chance to play and explore on the large field. The children are grouped according to age for focused activities which are carried out in various parts of the nursery.
There is a wide variety of toys and equipment to interest and stimulate your child at different stages of their development. We have a dedicated area for 6 children under the age of 2 years, which is suitable to meet all their needs. Every child has daily Communication through our Famly app which provides parents/carers with all the information about their child's day. This is also enhanced by verbal feedback at the end of each day by their child's key worker.
Our experienced staffing team are qualified to a high standard. All staff are DBS checked. Our staff turnover is low, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a close-knit, dedicated team that is always happy to help with any queries or concerns. When a child enters the nursery for the first time, we endeavour to make the transition as easy as possible for both parent and child. Settling-in visits are arranged up to a month in advance, and parents/carers are welcomed into the environment to complete a child's profile, allowing us to understand the child's individual needs.
The team carry out regular observations in order to meet children's individual needs and the early years' foundation stage requirements, which recognises that all 0 - 5-year-olds need to develop and learn through interaction with people and exploration of the world around them. Children's progress and experiences are recorded using photographs and written notes, all kept in their child's individual portfolio within the Famly app. The portfolio records progress and development and is available for parents/carers to view at any time through their login to the Famly app; information on activities is available to parents as well through the app.
We are open to all families, cultures, languages and children with SEN or disabilities, and every child is included and made to feel valued and welcomed

Curriculum
- We follow the early year's foundation stage throughout the setting, which combines ‘the curriculum guidance for the foundation stage'. This is divided up into four main areas:-
- A unique child.
- A positive relationship.
- Enabling environments.
- Learning and development.
In the Playhouse (9 months to 2 years) children have a dedicated area with a specilised team providing a Fun, Happy, & Safe environment in which the children can develop before moving onto Yellow group.
In Yellow group (2 to 3 years) the focus is largely on play opportunities to develop children's physical, personal and social development. Activities include outdoor play, painting, water, sand, role play, art and craft.
In Red group (rising 3 to 4) children are given the opportunity to explore the curriculum further, through circle time and more structured games and learning experiences. Children may carry out their funded nursery education with us, group sizes are small and focused which enables us to maintain the caring environment in the nursery.
All meals are prepared freshly every day, so we are able to cater for all medical, dietary and cultural needs.
